Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon at the river. It was a nice hot day, so the water felt great. I found myself a rock to lay on and catch some sun. I thought I would share with you some of the items I brought with me…
1. My Chaco sandals. These were essential in navigating the river’s slippery rocks and stones. I was able to hike the trail, and then get right in the water with them. The Vibram soles are comfortable and durable for rough conditions.
2. My point and shoot camera. [NOT MY PHONE] I left my phone in the car, and I have to say it was a very peaceful afternoon. I didn’t even know what time it was – I just enjoyed myself in the peace of nature, without any distraction. I was able to snag some great pictures with my point and shoot camera – Definitely a summer essential. Capture the moments without the burden of posting, or having to text or tweet.
3. Snacks and Drinks. It’s always good to be prepared. For this particular afternoon, I packed some black grapes, sugar snap peas, a gallon of water and a plastic tumblr of Pinot Grigio…Summer is about relaxing and enjoying, right? Don’t forget a towel!
4. Last but not least – sunscreen. Even though it was a little bit overcast, I still got a lot of sun (including a weird sandal tan). Don’t forget to use sunscreen! I like this particular brand because it is Oil Free, so it works well on my sensitive skin.
Now get out there and enjoy your summer!
