You want to know what I love about the garden? Every year is different. Flux, and flow. Now don’t get me wrong, I am very new to gardening, but I have big dreams! Someday I would love to have my own garden big enough to provide for myself and others. However, this year things are scaled way back…This summer I am in a living situation that does not allow for a garden, and a job that doesn’t allow the time necessary either.
So, this year I have: Mint and Basil. That’s it.
I chose to grow these two herbs because they are the ones I use the most. I use basil in almost all of my summer cooking, and in smoothies; and I use mint in juices and fresh summer libations. I also have extra room for green onions, and other kitchen scrap varieties.
So that’s it – it’s not spectacular, but at least I will have something growing. it helps that I live in an area that has an abundant farmer’s market that I can depend on!
If you are looking for some garden inspiration, then you need to check out my sister’s blog: Angela’s Gracious Garden. She’s the real green thumb…I’m just a poser.
What are you harvesting this year? Is it a year of abundance, or dependence? Let me know.
